Torque and Trough

New landscape paintings by Sara Foust at the Cliffs of Moher Visitors’ Centre

1 December 2015 - 31 January 2016

Sara’s landscape paintings are inspired by the wild coast and sea of the west of Ireland. Torque and Trough refers to the movement of the water, the wave-forms and fluid dynamics painted with drips and spattering, silvered and reflective paint and dramatic underpainting.  The paintings explore the balance between the solidity of the rugged stone cliffs and the fluidity of the ocean waters; with varying viewpoints, the relationship between the land and the water changes and the balance of power shifts visibly.
